Name: Emma Taylor

Accepted to: University of South Dakota (USD)

Intended field of study: Theatre (I plan to also attend graduate school for library sciences).

How did you decide on a school/field of study?
I’ve always loved theatre, and that’s the only major I can picture myself pursuing. I took a tour of USD and decided that was where I wanted to be.

What makes USD a good fit for you?
I really like the campus, and after hearing about the acting program and meeting some of the students, I knew I would fit right in.

How did you feel when you received the news of your acceptance?
At first, I was blasé about it because I knew I would be accepted, but now, I am so excited to go.

Which classes, programs, and/or faculty at Sioux Falls Lutheran School helped support your interest in your planned field of study?
All of my experiences in the drama club. Each show helped me grow in my skills and prepared me for a future in theatre.

Are there any other activities that had a significant impact on you during your time at SFLS?
My years in choir. I started out as a really shy singer, and now I sing obnoxiously loud and don’t sound like a dying walrus.

What is your favorite Bible verse?
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” –Ephesians 2:10
