Scott Peters, Board Chairman
Faith Lutheran Church

Mr. Peters has a degree in political science from Augustana College and a J.D. from the University of South Dakota School of Law. He practiced law for 30 years, served as Chair of the Minnehaha County Mental Illness Board for 35 years, and is currently retired.


Mary Ellen Heirigs, Vice Chair
Lord of Life Lutheran Church

Mrs. Heirigs has an associate degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse for 20 years before retiring from the profession. She is currently a co-owner of J & M Transmission and Auto Service and has been an integral part of the business for the last 16 years.


Melissa Greenwaldt, Secretary
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church

Mrs. Greenwaldt has a degree in management from the University of Sioux Falls. She is currently a project coordinator with POET Design and Construction, one of the world’s largest producers of ethanol and biofuel products.


Kent Harnisch, Treasurer
Resurrection Lutheran Church

Mr. Harnisch has over 25 years of experience as a CPA. He worked in the private accounting sector for 25 years and started his own CPA firm in October, 2014, which he uses to provide general accounting, tax, consulting and on-site CFO services.


JoAnn Hirsch
Faith Lutheran Church

Mrs. Hirsch began working in healthcare as a registered nurse in 1978. She is currently employed as the compliance officer and risk manager at Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital.


Alyssia Sturm
Lord of Life Lutheran Church

Mrs. Sturm is currently a Mortgage Loan officer at First Bank & Trust in Sioux Falls. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Management from the University of Sioux Falls. She is an affiliate member of the Home Builders Association and Realtor Association of the Sioux Empire. She has prior board member experience for various nonprofits. She is also a graduate of Sioux Falls Lutheran School.


Laura Alderman
Memorial Lutheran Church

Mrs. Alderman started her career as a dental assistant eight years ago at Dental Solutions. Two years into her career, she accepted a management position within the same practice. She has two children that attend SFLS and is one of the Vice Presidents on the Parent Teacher Fellowship board (PTF). Mrs. Alderman wants to help the school so more lives become World Ready, Faith Secure.


Jay Prouty
Memorial Lutheran Church

Mr. Prouty has worked in the insurance industry since 2002. His first experience as an agent was with McKinney Olson Insurance. Presently, he serves as an insurance agent with North Central Insurance.


Ron Gjoraas
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church

Mr. Gjorass has a degree in biology and composite science from the University of South Dakota—Springfield. He served as a high school biology instructor and a junior high school earth and life science teacher from 1965 to 1974. In the summer of 1974, he took a job as a territory sales representative with Syntex Laboratories and spent 20 years doing pharmaceutical product promotion to physicians, hospitals, and retail drug stores. Mr. Gjorass is currently retired.


Allen Schmuck
Resurrection Lutheran Church

Mr. Schmuck has a degree in business administration from Southwest Minnesota State University. His professional experience includes work as an underwriter in the property and casualty insurance industry, insurance agency management, and loss control.
