K-12 Admissions

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a parent. Over the course of 13 years, elementary, middle, and high school experiences lay the foundation for your child’s spiritual, social, academic, and professional future. As educators, we believe that connecting with your family is an important first step in choosing the right school environment for your child.

NEW STUDENT ADMISSIONS DECISIONS BEGIN

In order to help you make the best decision for your family, our admissions process follows sEVERAL important steps:

1. Schedule Your Family’s Campus Visit
You’ll receive the opportunity to tour our facility, observe classes in action, visit with faculty and staff, and meet with our admissions team to ask questions and discuss next steps in the admissions process. No matter where you decide to enroll your child, visiting with us is an important first step in finding the right educational environment for your family. Register for an upcoming First Look Friday event or contact our admissions team at 605-335-1923 to schedule your campus visit.

2. Apply for admission. Prospective families are invited to complete an online admissions application at any time.

3. Request Records for Review & Schedule a Parent Enrollment Conversation with our Principal
At the end of your campus visit, we’ll request permission to review your child’s school records to help our team understand your child’s unique academic, social, and emotional learning needs. We’ll also schedule a follow up enrollment meeting for parents/guardians and our principal, where you’ll receive the opportunity to share more about your family, discuss educational goals for your student, and review academic records together. If your child is entering kindergarten for the first time, we’ll ask their current preschool teacher to complete a kindergarten entrance information sheet in lieu of requesting records.

4. Submit Enrollment Forms & Deposit
If steps one through three confirm that our school is a good fit for your family, you’ll receive email notification of acceptance and an invitation to complete enrollment paperwork online. Your child's enrollment will not be complete until online enrollment paperwork is submitted and the $400 enrollment fee is paid. Enrollments must be completed by July 31 in order for students to begin school on time. A fee of $250 will be assessed for every withdrawal.

Alumni Spotlight:

What families are saying:

“There are many reasons why I love going to Sioux Falls Lutheran. I would say the main point would be because we get a Christian education. It's great because it sets a good foundation for your morals and ethics, and when you go out into the world people are going to see that and that's going to define your character… I feel very confident with the teachers I have. They are leading us down a great path, and I can't wait to see where that takes me.”
–Emma, SFLS Class of 2023

“Every interaction we had with staff, administrators, and students just gave us the sense that this is a really positive environment. It’s a really life-giving place where the Holy Spirit is at work, where people are really trying to live as Christ, and where we knew our kids are going to be encouraged, nurtured, and strengthened each and every day.”
–Dave, SFLS Parent
