Sioux Falls Lutheran School Releases New Logo
In preparation for a new website launch later this spring, our marketing team worked with North Star Marketing this fall to refresh our academic logo. The new brand, showcased below, was recently approved by the school board (please note–we will continue to use our athletic Eagle logo alongside this new academic brand):
We had several goals going into the project, including:
Refresh our current logo and match our athletic brand
Clearly identify ourselves as a school
Align with visual elements on campus
Distinguish ourselves visually from other Christian schools in the area
You'll see we've incorporated the Columbia blue from our athletic logo, as well as a splash of green in the top left corner which can be found throughout the building in our furnishings. We hope you'll see other components of our building in the tri-colored panels surrounding the cross (which reflect the stained glass windows in the chapel), the slanted line of the colors in the top portion of the shield (which reflect the rooflines on our building), and the tall narrow cross with an extended right arm (which reflects the cross in the chapel, on the front of our building, and on our new marching band uniforms).
Through the use of the shield, "SFLS," and "Sioux Falls Lutheran School," we hope to clearly identify ourselves as a school, and not a church, as we use the logo in the greater Sioux Falls community. The Columbia blue and splash of green also help differentiate us from our primary private school competitors, whose colors are also blue.
Finally, we included the established date to provide credibility as a long-standing school in the Sioux Falls community, as many prospective families—particularly at the middle and high school level—view us as a "new" school option within the community.
Our team, along with North Star, did a wonderful job collaborating on this project. We hope and pray that you enjoy this new design. We look forward to rolling it out with the launch of our new website over the next few months.
In preparation for our new brand launch, Yours on the Spot will be selling gear branded with our new logo at Sioux Falls Lutheran School from 3:00-6:30pm on Tuesday, January 16. An online store is also available through February 1, 2024, for those who aren't able to make it in person. Please feel free to snag some fresh gear, and keep an eye out this new logo across the web and our community this spring!
