SFLS Senior Grant Prouty Commits to Play Baseball at Peru State

Sioux Falls Lutheran School senior, Grant Prouty, recently committed to play baseball at Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska, next year.

A preschool through 12th grade SFLS student, Prouty has been playing baseball in the Sioux Falls community since he was approximately four years old. He got his start through the Sioux Empire Baseball Association (SEBA) and presently plays for Sioux Falls Post 15 West. He will play his final season with Post 15 West this summer before continuing his career at college in the fall.

“I decided to apply to Peru State College for a number of reasons,” Prouty said. “They are building new baseball facilities and also just hired a new head coach. Three of my cousins went to Peru, as well. One of them played baseball, and one played football. I look forward to the new level of competition I will face as well as the next level of practicing and workouts that will make me a better athlete.”

Sioux Falls Lutheran School opened its doors to 35 high school students in the fall of 2020, and presently serves 55 students in grades 9 through 12. The vision is to grow quickly into a high school that serves 200-250 students. Future expansion plans include an upper school addition in the next few years that will house growing middle and high school classes.
