Miss Berg is a May, 2020, graduate of Concordia University, Nebraska. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, which is early childhood inclusive (birth-3rd). Her student teaching experiences included time in infant and toddler rooms, early childhood/preschool classrooms, and 1st grade literacy. Miss Berg also has experience as a counselor at Camp Omega in Waterville, MN, and a float between infant, 1, and 2-year-old rooms at HopeCare Sioux Falls. In addition, she currently serves as an active member of the South Dakota Air National Guard.

Check out the Q&A below to learn more about Miss Berg’s passion for teaching some of God’s littlest learners.

How did you decide to pursue a career in early childhood education?
After graduating from high school, I was not sure what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go. I ended up down at Concordia University, Nebraska and loved it! Once there, I was led to pursue a degree in early childhood education. The joy children have is incredible, and I cannot wait to share in that joy!

Tell me a bit about your teaching style.
Children learn best through play and hands-on experiences. I will support this learning by providing opportunities for them to grow emotionally, physically, academically, and most important, spiritually.

What do you look forward to about teaching in a Lutheran school?
JESUS! Not only do I get to share God’s love with the children in my classroom, but also with their families and my fellow staff members. I get to share my faith and support the faith of those around me. We are a family here to support one another, and I’m so thankful to be here!
