Mrs. Feldhaus will serve as our lead infant teacher. Since high school, she has explored a variety of career paths while raising her own children, Tristan and Leah who attend SFLS. Her new baby boy, Teddy, is joining our infant care program alongside her this fall. Mrs. Feldhaus has served as an educational assistant in our early childhood classrooms in years past. Prior to her time at SFLS, she served as a lead teacher in an infant program for several years. After more than 13 years of working with children of all ages, she’s come to find that working with infants and toddlers is her true passion in life.

She is an SFLS alum who worked in our summer Eagle Care program for several years during college.  She graduated from Augustana University in May 2021, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Ms. Hartman looks forward to working with and caring for God’s littlest learners through SFLS’s new infant care program.

Check out the Q&A below to learn more about Mrs. Feldhaus and Ms. Hartman.

What are you most looking forward to about working with our youngest learners?
Mrs. Feldhaus: I look forward to helping children accomplish many milestones and watching them grow into their own personalities. I hope to create a safe and nurturing environment for them.

Ms. Hartman: I am looking forward to forming relationships with each child and making what can sometimes be a tough transition exciting every morning when they arrive. I am excited to learn their personalities and their favorite things. I also look forward to loving on them each and every day and sharing God’s story of love and grace with them, even at their young age!

Please share a little bit about how you plan to incorporate Jesus into your classroom.
Mrs. Feldhaus: God is love! I plan to incorporate Jesus into the classroom by showing our youngest students love and compassion. I will incorporate daily prayer and worship into our classroom and will model the unconditional love Jesus gives us all.

Ms. Hartman: We incorporate Jesus into the classroom by reading books about Him, His life, and His miracles, and by singing songs about Him. We also give children an opportunity to explore God’s great big world through large and small activities throughout the day.

Favorite Bible Verse:
Mrs. Feldhaus: “In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.” –Matthew 5:16

Ms. Hartman: “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” –John 16:33
