Sioux Fall Lutheran School’s Admission Process
Ready to get started? Here are the steps you’ll need to complete. Please refer to your specific grade level range for detailed instructions.
Preschool
Apply online. There is no fee to apply.
For this step, you can either schedule a private tour or join us for a visit event, such as an open house or a First Look Friday.
If your campus visit confirms that our school is a good fit for your family, you’ll receive email notification of acceptance and an invitation to complete enrollment paperwork online. Your child’s enrollment will not be complete until online enrollment paperwork is submitted and the $400 enrollment fee is paid. Enrollments must be completed by July 31 in order for students to begin school on time. A fee of $250 will be assessed for every withdrawal.
Elementary, Middle, & High School
Apply online. There is no fee to apply.
You’ll receive the opportunity to tour our facility, observe classes in action, visit with faculty and staff, and meet with our admissions team to ask questions and discuss next steps in the admissions process. No matter where you decide to enroll your child, visiting with us is an important first step in finding the right educational environment for your family.
At the end of your campus visit, we’ll request permission to review your child’s school records to help our team understand your child’s unique academic, social, and emotional learning needs. We’ll also schedule a follow up enrollment meeting for parents/guardians and our principal, where you’ll receive the opportunity to share more about your family, discuss educational goals for your student, and review academic records together. If your child is entering kindergarten for the first time, we’ll ask their current preschool teacher to complete a kindergarten entrance information sheet in lieu of requesting records.
If steps one through three confirm that our school is a good fit for your family, you’ll receive email notification of acceptance and an invitation to complete enrollment paperwork online. Your child’s enrollment will not be complete until online enrollment paperwork is submitted and the $400 enrollment fee is paid. “We were very pleased with the admissions process at SFLS. The team was always quick to respond to my calls and emails, and they were very detailed in answering all of our questions. Campus visits provide an opportunity to see SFLS ‘in action’ during a regular school day so you can get a feel for how the school will suit your family. Finally, the software program used to apply for admission and upload transfer paperwork is also very user-friendly. The admissions team and office staff are very friendly and helpful!”
