Hours of Operation

Infants and toddlers:

  • Tuition covers our full hours of operation (7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.), and families work directly with their teacher to set their daily arrival and departure schedules

3 to 5-year-olds:

  • School days run from 8:00-11:15 a.m. (half days) or 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (full days); extended care is available through our Eagle Care program (see below for details)

Extended Care

Eagle Care, our before and after school program, is available at an additional cost for 3 to 5-year-olds from 7:00-8:00 a.m. and 3:30-6:00 p.m. Preschoolers in this program receive a snack and have extra time for indoor and outdoor play. Families interested in Eagle Care must register for the program with our Eagle Care director. While we do our best to accommodate as many students as possible, enrollment priority is given to full-time Eagle Care attendees. Part-time and drop-in care is available only if there is room to stay within required student-to-staff ratios required by the State of South Dakota.

Tuition Assistance Resources for Preschool

RaiseRight

SFLS offers participation-based tuition assistance through RaiseRight (formerly known as SCRIP) to families with students of all ages. Participating families purchase gift cards at face value through our school or online through the RaiseRight app and use them, instead of cash or other cards, to make purchases. A percentage of each gift card you buy goes directly into an account for your child and is applied toward your child’s tuition. Learn more.

Child Care Assistance Program through DSS

Child Care Assistance through the South Dakota Department of Social Services is available to families who meet income guidelines and minimum work and/or school requirements. Federal Child Care and Development Block Grant funds help low-income families pay for child care as they work, attend school or both. The program will help pay child care costs to providers who meet certain criteria. The family may be required to make a co-payment based on the household income and family size. Learn more.

Association Church + Private Donor Tuition Assistance Funds

Several Sioux Falls Lutheran School Association Churches have established needs-based tuition assistance funds for children of the congregation who attend SFLS. In addition, private donors who contribute to our school often have a Christian interest in providing tuition assistance to those in need.

Payment Plans

Our team of committed administrators and finance personnel are available to assist your family in putting together a reasonable tuition payment plan in order to make Christian education at SFLS a reality for your child.
