Is Your Child Ready for Kindergarten?

Starting kindergarten is a big step, and a joyful, successful entry into elementary school can have a lasting impact on your child’s confidence and love of learning. While some 5-year-olds may already show strong early academic skills, others may still be developing the emotional maturity needed to thrive in a structured classroom environment. The great news? That’s perfectly okay!

If you’re concerned about your child’s readiness for kindergarten, our Fantastic Fives Program may be the right fit. This specially designed bridge year helps children build solid foundational skills, develop emotional resilience, and grow through hands-on learning experiences. Some children simply need a little more time to play, explore, and mature—and we’re here to support that journey.

Our Fantastic Fives program is built on evidence-based approaches and a nurturing curriculum, including:

  • Heggerty Phonemic Awareness, to strengthen early literacy through sound and word play
  • Handwriting Without Tears, used in writing journals to build confidence in written expression
  • Suzuki Violin Lessons, a proven method that impacts a child’s attention, working memory, and inhibitory control
  • A balanced classroom routine with structured learning, creative exploration, purposeful play, and movement

In addition, each week we explore Bible stories that teach children they are perfectly and wonderfully made—loved by Jesus in both joyful and challenging moments.

We understand that deciding whether your child is ready for kindergarten can feel overwhelming. You’re not alone in this decision. We are here to walk with you and offer a thoughtful, supportive alternative that could be just the right path for your child’s growth and long-term success.
