Meet Finance & Business Director Monica Johnson
Sioux Falls Lutheran School is pleased to welcome Mrs. Monica Johnson to the Sioux Falls Lutheran School family! She joined our team last spring as our finance and business director.
Mrs. Johnson brings a wealth of experience in finance, accounting, human resources, and operational leadership, having served in both corporate and private sectors. A graduate of Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis with a degree in Business Management, she is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor with proficiency in a wide range of financial software tools. Her robust expertise in financial analysis, policy development, human resources, and multi-entity management will be a valuable asset to our mission of developing capable Christian servant-leaders. We are confident that her integrity, attention to detail, and collaborative leadership style will help steward our school’s resources with wisdom and excellence.
Mrs. Johnson is also a proud SFLS alum who grew up in Sioux Falls. She and her husband, Ben, are the parents of two current SFLS preschoolers. She is thrilled to return to her SFLS roots and serve our community in new and meaningful ways.

Tell me a bit about yourself and your family.
I am married to Ben, and we have four children, Oscar, Alex, Hunter, and Samuel.
What appeals to you about working in a school setting?
I appreciate the community created through all employees and SFLS families. I also enjoy coming to work with so many people driven to make a difference.
What responsibilities do you look forward to fulfilling in your new position?
I look forward to supporting all SFLS employees and families with all finance and business related matters. The logistics of sending your child to school are complex, and I look forward to being that resource for our school and employees.
What excites you most about joining the SFLS community as an employee?
Making a difference! I get to see it everyday through my co-workers’ actions. It truly is a unique opportunity.
