Senior Spotlight: Josiah Baumann

As graduation draws near, we’re sitting down with the class of 2026 to talk about their time at Sioux Falls Lutheran School and what the future holds.

Name: Josiah Baumann

Post-graduation plans: I plan to join the United States Marine Corps. I would like to become an electrician after the Marines.

How did you decide on your post-graduation plans?
I always knew I wanted to join the Marines someday, but it was on the senior trip that I decided to join right out of high school. Mr. Stubkjaer was a large influence in my interest.

What is your favorite high school memory?
My favorite memory was camping for basketball team bonding.

What advice would you share with underclassmen at SFLS?
Since people are never perfect, there are always two sides to a story. You need to always trust in God to show the way.

What is your favorite Bible verse?
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” –Romans 12:2
