Senior Spotlight: Macy Stadheim
As graduation draws near, we’re sitting down with the class of 2026 to talk about their time at Sioux Falls Lutheran School and what the future holds.

Name: Macy Stadheim
College/University accepted to: SDSU
Intended field of study: Nursing
What makes SDSU a good fit for you?
They have a great nursing program, and I can do it here in Sioux Falls.
How did you feel when you received the news of your acceptance?
I was very excited that I would be able to continue my education and pursue my dream job.
How did you decide on a field of study?
I first found interest in middle school, because I found that I would always help someone when they were hurt. Then I decided that it felt right for me, especially after being in the hospital with my dad and ending up there myself and seeing how the nurses care for you.
Which classes, programs, and/or faculty at SFLS helped support your interest in your planned field of study?
Anatomy and physiology helped support this interest, especially while learning about all the different diseases people experience and also learning about how the brain works.
Please share any other activities that had a significant impact on you during your time at SFLS.
Powerlifting had a very big impact on me, even though I only did it for one year of high school. I enjoyed having a team that was supportive and encouraging.
I am inspired by or grateful for…
I am inspired by my dad. He has always been there for me and my siblings. He has pushed through very tough days and still has a smile on his face. He doesn’t let anything hold him back, and I am very thankful that I get to call him my dad.
What advice would you share with underclassmen at SFLS?
Don’t take senior year for granted. It goes by faster than you think.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” –Psalm 46:5
