Meet Our New Middle School Teacher Beth Wall

Sioux Falls Lutheran School is pleased to welcome Mrs. Beth Wall to the SFLS family! She will join our middle school teaching team during the 2026-27 school year as our 8th grade homeroom and a middle school Bible, math, and social studies teacher.
Mrs. Wall holds a degree in secondary mathematics education from Concordia University, Wisconsin. She served at a Lutheran school in Davenport, IA, for three years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She spent the past five years traveling the country in an RV with her family in order to follow her husband across the country for his work.
Check out the Q&A below to learn more about Mrs. Wall and her passion for middle school education.
Tell me a bit about yourself and your family.
I attended Concordia University, Wisconsin, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education – Mathematics in 2018.
My husband and I met at Trinity Lutheran in Davenport, IA, when I accepted my first call in 2018. We married in 2019. We have two children–Frank, who is 1 year old, and Lena, who is 5 years old.
I taught middle school math, PE, and Religion at Trinity Lutheran in Davenport, IA, for three years. I then spent the last five years staying home with our kids. I am so excited to be back in the classroom, especially at SFLS!
How did you decide to pursue a career in education?
I loved helping my little brother with homework as we grew up. The challenge of helping him without doing it for him and finding new ways to help him learn concepts was a huge draw for me. Seeing that “aha” moment when kids learn something is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
Tell me a bit about your teaching style.
My teaching style has changed a lot after being out of the classroom for five years and raising young children. I have learned so much in the past five years about meeting students where they’re at to help them be successful, and I’m excited to learn more and hone in my teaching style at SFLS.
What do you enjoy most about working with middle school students?
Middle school students are such a fun challenge! I love that we can still have fun, but also have serious and deep conversations–especially about faith. Middle school students are at an age where they really start asking in-depth questions and exploring their faith along with everything else in life.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” –Matthew 19:26
