Meet Our New 5th Grade Teacher Kaitlyn Holm
Sioux Falls Lutheran School is pleased to welcome Mrs. Kaitlyn Holm to the elementary teaching team during the 2026-27 school year as a 5th grade teacher.
An SFLS alumna, Mrs. Holm completed her degree in elementary education and student taught in Mrs. Mnlarik’s 3rd grade classroom last spring. She finished out the 2025-26 school year teaching 5th grade at Sioux Falls Christian, and she looks forward to returning to 5th grade this fall at SFLS.

Tell me a bit about yourself and your family.
I grew up in the Brandon/Valley Springs community and graduated from Lutheran High School of Sioux Falls in 2015. I married Nate in 2018, and we are expecting our first child in November 2026! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with our families, reading, baking, playing board games, and traveling.
Where did you attend college, and what degree did you earn?
I graduated from Western Governors University in March, 2026, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education.
Tell me about your teaching experience.
I was so blessed to complete my student teaching right here at SFLS with Mrs. Katie Mlnarik! For the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year, I taught 5th grade at Sioux Falls Christian.
How did you decide to pursue a career in education?
I grew up in a family of educators and always knew I would end up in education in some capacity.
Tell me a bit about your teaching style.
My teaching style focuses on hands-on learning and creating a supportive environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to learn.
What do you enjoy most about working with 5th grade students?
I love that 5th graders are curious, funny, and willing to take on new challenges. They are growing in their confidence and independence while still having a love for learning.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
