Senior Spotlight: Luke Ascher

As graduation draws near, we’re sitting down with the class of 2025 to talk about their time at Sioux Falls Lutheran School and what the future holds.

College/University accepted to: Concordia University Nebraska (CUNE)

Intended field of study: Elementary Education

What makes CUNE a good fit for you?
CUNE has a faith-based environment paired with a tight-knit community.

How did you feel when you received the news of your acceptance?
I was happy, but not surprised because it is a smaller school.

How did you decide on a school/field of study?
I took the advice from the people around me, and they all were saying the same things.

Which classes, programs, and/or faculty at Sioux Falls Lutheran School helped support your interest in your planned career field?
All of the faculty have been supportive along the way, but all of the core classes, like math, English, science, and social studies, will be helpful for my future.

Please share any other activities that had a significant impact on you during your time at SFLS.
Basketball and football were my favorite activities because they foster friendships and create stories, but coaches also create ways to grow and teach the faith outside the sports. 

What is your favorite Bible verse?
