Senior Spotlight: Madilyn Dinges
As graduation draws near, we’re sitting down with the class of 2026 to talk about their time at Sioux Falls Lutheran School and what the future holds.

Intended field of study: Criminal Justice
What makes UMN Crookston a good fit for you?
I really liked the volleyball coach, school environment, and size. I also have a friend who goes there already who loves it.
How did you decide on a field of study?
I have always been interested in crime and helping others, and knew I wanted to be in the field of helping victims or putting away criminals.
Which classes, programs, and/or faculty at SFLS helped support your interest in your planned field of study?
Forensics with Mrs. Fisher.
Please share any other activities that had a significant impact on you during your time at SFLS.
I participated in volleyball, cheer, and in marching band as a banner holder.
What is your favorite high school memory?
On the senior trip when Mr. and Mrs. Slavens took me, Rylee, Kaitlyn, Josiah, and Sam for ice cream in St. Louis.
What advice would you share with underclassmen at SFLS?
Don’t stress over grades, and enjoy these years because they go by faster than you think they will.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” –Proverbs 3:5-6
