What makes Southeast Tech a good fit for you?
I always knew I wanted to stay in South Dakota for school, and after learning about Southeast’s Vet Tech program, I knew it was the best fit for me.
How did you feel when you received the news of your acceptance?
I was super excited that I could go into the field I have always dreamed of.
How did you decide on a field of study?
Ever since I was little, it has always been my dream to become a vet because of my love of animals and the fact that I didn’t have pets growing up due to my family’s allergies.
Which classes, programs, and/or faculty at SFLS helped support your interest in your planned career field?
Anatomy has helped me gain interest in becoming a vet tech and get a head start on learning medical terms.
Please share any other activities that had a significant impact on you during your time at SFLS.
The activity that had the biggest impact on me was definitely volleyball. It taught me leadership skills as someone who likes to blend in more than stand out, and it gave me amazing friendships I never would’ve expected.
What is your favorite class memory?
My favorite class memory is playing Bean Boozled on the senior trip.
I am inspired by or grateful for…
I am grateful for the opportunity to be at this school and have best friends that lead me closer to Christ.
What advice would you share with underclassmen at SFLS?
My advice to underclassmen would be to take advantage and live in the moment with your friends, because you don’t get to see them everyday forever.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” –1 Corinthians 13:4-7
