Risen Savior Becomes an SFLS Affiliate Member

In recent months, several local Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregations have expressed interest in exploring new ways to affiliate with SFLS in ministry. In response to these conversations, our School Board unanimously approved the creation of an Affiliate Member level of support, beginning with the 2026–27 school year.

We are pleased to share that Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Tea, SD, will be the first congregation to join SFLS as an Affiliate Member.

This affiliation is designed to strengthen collaboration between SFLS and congregations that share our mission, while remaining distinct from formal association membership. As an Affiliate Member, Risen Savior will:

  • Provide $10,000 in financial support to SFLS during the 2026–27 school year (evaluated annually).
  • Receive one non-voting representative on the SFLS School Board beginning in July.
  • Be eligible for a 20% discount on K–12 tuition for its members (contingent upon fulfillment of the annual financial commitment; evaluated annually).

Beyond these structural elements, this affiliate membership reflects a shared commitment to developing capable Christian servant-leaders equipped to serve Christ and neighbor. We are grateful for the opportunity to deepen collaboration through shared ministry, outreach, and support for families.

We look forward to the many blessings this affiliation will bring to both SFLS and Risen Savior, and we pray that this new Affiliate Member option will open doors for additional partnerships with other congregations in the future.
