Senior Spotlight: Peter Samp
As graduation draws near, we’re sitting down with the class of 2026 to talk about their time at Sioux Falls Lutheran School and what the future holds.

Post-graduation plans: Join the United States Marine Corps.
How did you feel when you received the news of your acceptance?
I felt a sense of purpose.
How did you decide on your post-graduation plans?
The USMC will provide me opportunities to grow as an individual, but work for something much bigger than myself.
Which classes, programs, and/or faculty at SFLS helped support your interest in your planned career field?
Shape to share and conversation vs. confrontation.
Please share any other activities that had a significant impact on you during your time at SFLS.
Football, baseball, basketball, and track & field all played a role in my high school experience. I would not have grown to be the person I am today without them.
What is your favorite high school class memory?
Anatomy class with the boys.
I am inspired by or grateful for…
Coach Becker inspires me to be the best teammate I can be on and off the court. Coach Becker demonstrates spiritual leadership, passion, and perseverance. He is a coach not only on the court, but also off it as well.
What advice would you share with underclassmen at SFLS?
Be involved in as many sports or fine arts as possible.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
“If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” –Romans 14:8
